She is the Legal and Advocacy Committee Chairperson for the Association of Pediatric Social Workers and a former member of the Tone Deafs. As a young adult survivor, Stacia recognizes the power of i[2]y and states, "When I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma as a college student, it wasn't cool to say you had cancer. In fact my college friends ran from me. In addition to being incredibly talented artists, Matthew Zachary and other artists like Christine Baze, provide the inspiration to not only talk about being a survivor, but to assist in building a community of young adult survivors that can be the voice for change. I have witnessed firsthand the difference that they make to survivors who can feel so alone."
