Once a die-hard rocker, Don Conoscenti is one of the most respected musicians and critically acclaimed songwriters in acoustic music. His live performances are a soulful fusion of styles blended from his experience playing rock, jazz, blues, folk, funk and country. A man of extraordinary presence and character, Don is no stranger to cancer. As caregiver to his Father's lymphoma and his girlfriend's breast cancer he shared the fears, the anxiety and the struggle that many know too well. He has also weathered the loss of many friends to the disease, including his girlfriend's father, who lost his battle to kidney cancer in 2005.
Don has chosen to share the art of his survivorship by channeling his passion into hope-filled songs that deal with loss from various perspectives. 'The Other Side', his hit single from 2001's 'Paradox of Grace' CD was played regularly on WFUV-FM in New York City in the wake of September 11th because of it's comforting effect. It continues to be used internationally in healing and hospice work.
