Vicki Blankenship was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 1998 at the age of 40 and has survived two subsequent recurrences. Cancer free since 2003, she happily left corporate America behind to pursue her music career full time and give back to the cancer community by way of founding Indie Music For Life, a nonprofit organization in North Carolina that raises money for cancer research.
Vicki is also CEO of IndieGrrl.com, an international online community of more than 1,500 independent female musicians. Her debut CD "Don't Forget To Breathe" was featured on several internet radio and standard radio shows and her 2nd release, "Horizons", has also garnered critical praise. Winner of the 2004 NC Cape Fear Songwriter's Showdown, Vicki now tours coast-to-coast with her venue and festival list continuing to grow. As founder of Spotted Kiva Productions, a CD/DVD duplication and interactive design firm, Vicki is proud of the many hats she wears and stands committed to making a difference in both the music and cancer communities.
