YALC POLICIES
I. What You Pledge YALC members share in a pledge to ensure that i[2]y (1) becomes the most recognizable and (2) remains one of the most comprehensive, easily navigable, trusted, peer-reviewed and patient-friendly online resource portal for adolescents, teenagers and young adults with cancer as well as their families and caregivers. II. What You Get 1. One great big box of "Stupid Cancer" schwag 2. Access to internal communications about upcoming projects, current strategies, new marketing and promotional efforts, event planning, etc... 3. Participation in proprietary focus groups, conference calls, youth marketing surveys and strategic consumer health research studies. 4. Opportunity to attend and contribute to YALC committee meetings. 5. Opportunity to apply to join the Board of Directors. 6. Affiliate partnership sales and fundraising/franchise options. 7. Chance to speak with the press on our behalf. III. What We Ask Of You (Mandates) 1. DOWNLOAD — i[2]y Media Kit and familiarize yourself with i[2]y. Learn just exactly with who we are, what we do and how we do it. — 55 Ways To Help and see how easy it is to help.

— the i[2]y hospital affiliate network by reaching out to oncology providers (social workers, nurses, therapists) at your local cancer centers. Tell them to visit our website and request our free literature. Check with YALC leaders on our current hospital database so as not to double up efforts.

6. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR IV. What We Ask Of You (Suggestions) 1. Consider wearing our gear. (view) 2. Attend a concert featuring one of the i[2]y Musicians, say hi and volunteer to help them distribute our promotional postcards to their adoring fans. 3. Speak with us about other ways to help sell the CDs (i.e. small business wholesaling, hospital retail shops, local charity partnerships) 4. Investigate local church/synagogue/university or performing arts center w/grand piano for collaborative community benefit concert. 5. Survey your personal social network of friends, family and colleagues and think of who you might know that would be interested in learning more about contributing their time, talent and treasure to i[2]y. 6. Keep your involvement top-of-mind when speaking with your oncology team, other young adults with cancer as well as (when appropriate), your personal social network. Encourage and invite these people to learn why you got involved with i[2]y and what it means to you to support our efforts. Rule #1 of awareness raising is that "People don't support causes. People support people." V. i[2]y Goals, 2008 1. Grow the i[2]y affiliate network to 500 cancer centers. 2. Grow Board of Directors leadership by 7 additional members. 3. Grow YALC constituency to 100 members. 4. Sell 5000 copies of the i[2]y Benefit CD. 5. Sell 1000 copies of Both Sides of the Coin. VI. i[2]y Strategic Vision, 2008 1. Organize 2 benefit concerts (east/west coast) featuring the i[2]y artists. 2. Strategically plan and develop the Cancertainers Speakers Bureau. 3. Much, much more!
